 Stage 1: Finding Contestants

Deadline: MON, JANUARY 15, 2018

An open call will go out to all eligible Muskokans to apply.

Once application is closed, the Founders will evaluate entries and select up to 10 semi-finalists who will move on to the next stage.

The semi-finalists will be advised mid January 2018 that they have been selected as a semi-finalist for stage 2. They will have until January 30, 2018 to confirm they can continue the process to attend Pitch Day and Awards Night.

 Stage 2: Pitch Day

Tue, FebRUARY 27, 2018

Up to 10 semi-finalists will have 2 sessions in front of the camera with a video crew:

  1. 1-on-1 interview edited down to an "elevator pitch" video
  2. An interview with 3 of the Founders that will be edited down to a video

The Founders will review all materials. On March 9, 2018, 5 finalists will be announced and their videos displayed on Founders Circle and other approved sponsor websites.

 Stage 3: Awards Night

Thu, March 22, 2018

All finalists will receive 2 complimentary tickets to attend the IMPACT Awards Night, at the JW Marriott in Minett.

The Founders, in assocation with Parry Sounds Muskoka Community Network (PMCN), will host this event, inviting the finalists, investors, and mentors. All finalists will be honoured.

During the event, the winner will be announced and will receive a cheque for $10,000.

Muskoka Grant Program

Founders Circle

Founders Circle is an organization that aims to find a Muskoka-based entrepreneur/innovator with the best idea and plan for a successful business. A contest will be hosted every year, giving Muskokans a chance to apply.

The winner will receive the Founders Choice Award – a $10,000 grant.

The Founders are community leaders who have invested in a $10,000 winner-take-all prize to be awarded to an individual or group with an innovative idea that will help improve the local economy. Aside from screening applications, interviewing finalists, and presenting the prize, the Founders aim to provide significant assistance to finalists who do not win through video production, marketing, and introduction to investors.
